Surrender at Dacca

by J. F. R. Jacob

Description. A short description of a book from my bookshelf, not a review.

Lieutenant General J. F. R. Jacob, chief of staff of the Indian Army's Eastern Command in 1971, gives his account of the Bangladesh campaign and the negotiations that led to the surrender of Pakistani forces in Dhaka.

It is a first-hand and sometimes controversial memoir, and it offers important insight into the planning and command decisions behind one of India's most decisive victories.
