The Inevitable
Description. A short description of a book from my bookshelf, not a review.
Kelly, the founding executive editor of Wired, describes twelve technological forces that he believes will shape the next thirty years, among them becoming, cognifying, flowing, sharing, tracking and questioning. His argument is that these trends are not predictions about specific products but directions that technology will inevitably take.
The book is optimistic and sometimes breathless, and it gives less attention to the social and political costs of technology. It is still a useful lens for thinking about how AI, data and networks are changing work and life.
