The Man Who Bombed Karachi

by S. M. Nanda

Description. A short description of a book from my bookshelf, not a review.

Admiral S. M. Nanda was Chief of the Naval Staff during the 1971 war, when Indian missile boats attacked Karachi in Operation Trident and Operation Python. His memoir covers his early life, his naval career and his leadership of the Navy through that war.

It is an important primary source on the Indian Navy's most celebrated operation, and it gives a sense of how a service that was often overlooked seized its chance to make a decisive contribution.
