War & StrategyBook note
The Weapon Wizards
Description. A short description of a book from my bookshelf, not a review.
Katz and Bohbot explain how a small country under constant threat became a leading developer of military technology, including drones, missile defence systems such as Iron Dome, satellites and cyber capabilities. They argue that national service, a culture of improvisation and close links between the military and industry made this possible.
The book is lively and well sourced, though largely celebratory in tone. It is a good companion to Luttwak and Shamir's The Art of Military Innovation, which is reviewed on this site.
