India & Its NeighboursBook note
Watershed 1967
Description. A short description of a book from my bookshelf, not a review.
DasGupta tells the story of the clashes at Nathu La and Cho La in 1967, when Indian troops fought Chinese forces on the Sikkim border five years after the defeat of 1962.
The book restores to memory a largely forgotten episode in which India held its ground, and argues that it changed the military balance and morale on the Himalayan frontier.
