India & Its NeighboursBook note
Four Crises and a Peace Process
Description. A short description of a book from my bookshelf, not a review.
Written by an Indian, a Pakistani and an American scholar, this book examines four India-Pakistan crises, Brasstacks in 1986–87, the 1990 crisis, Kargil in 1999 and the 2001–02 standoff, together with the peace process that followed, focusing on the role played by the United States.
Its joint authorship gives it unusual balance, and it is a valuable source on crisis management between nuclear-armed rivals.
