India & Its NeighboursBook note
Full Spectrum: India's Wars, 1972–2020
Description. A short description of a book from my bookshelf, not a review.
Subramaniam's sequel to India's Wars covers the period after 1971, including the Indian Peace Keeping Force in Sri Lanka, Siachen, Operation Brasstacks, the Kargil war, counter-insurgency in Kashmir and the North East, and the Balakot strikes of 2019.
It is a comprehensive and well-researched account of India's military operations over half a century, and particularly good at drawing lessons about jointness and civil-military coordination.
