Readings and Reflections

Homo Deus

by Yuval Noah Harari

Description. A short description of a book from my bookshelf, not a review.

In this sequel to Sapiens, Harari argues that having largely overcome famine, plague and war, humanity will now pursue immortality, happiness and divine powers. He suggests that data and algorithms may replace humanist values, a creed he calls dataism.

The book is speculative and provocative and raises important questions about AI and biotechnology. Its predictions should be read as thought experiments rather than forecasts.
