India & Its NeighboursBook note
The India Way
Description. A short description of a book from my bookshelf, not a review.
India's External Affairs Minister sets out his view of foreign policy in an uncertain world. He argues that the post-Cold War order is fading, that India must engage several powers at once rather than align with any one, and that it should pursue its interests with confidence and pragmatism.
Jaishankar draws on episodes from the Mahabharata to illustrate strategic choices, and he is frank about past mistakes in Indian diplomacy. The book is a useful statement of how India's current leadership sees the world and India's place in it.
